Land Girl feature in War Pictorial, September 1939

A full page feature on the work of the Women’s Land Army, published in the first year of the Second World War in ‘War Pictorial’. The opening of the page reads: ‘Everyone remembers how valuable to the community were the services of Land Girls last time – and now they’re back again, they and their younger sisters, to ensure that we all get enough to eat, bless ’em!’

The War Pictorial, 29 September 1939, p. 23.
