Lucy Owen and Claire Summers step into the boots of WW1 Land Girls

It is Remembrance Day on Sunday and as part of BBC Wales Today's series about the centenary of World War One, it has been looking at the role Land Girls played.

In 1917, with the men away, many Welsh farms were desperately short of workers.

Girls from towns and cities - who had no knowledge of farming - were recruited.

Wales Today's Lucy Owen and Claire Summers stepped into their muddy boots to find out what life as a Land Girl was really like.
